On the way out we encountered two modestly tall Canadian schooners.
Sailors up in the rigging, roll up the square sail on one of the Canadian boat.
Way off in the
distance, west of the Green, Sherwood Point Shoal buoy,
we spotted a very tall
two masted schooner doing a come about.
Later she came about
again and we followed her for two hours and
went through the Michigan
Street bridge on the same unscheduled opening.
What a blast.
Moon Dance was out there too and followed along with us.
The wind had some
pretty sizable gusts and we had the main double reefed with just a
sliver of a Genoa catching wind.
Below, Puff the Magic Dragon gives Moon Dance one of those 25 Knot gusts
that cooled us periodically in the 90 degree heat.
Notice the green tint of the water around the sailboat.
What a delightful day.
